TITLE 24, CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONSUPDATED FOR 2005 10/26/05 In order to help reduce California's energy consumption, the Energy Efficiency Standards for Residential and Nonresidential Buildings were established. Over a period of time, these standards are reviewed and adjusted to keep up with the new technologies and methods that get created. The last edition of standards came out back in 2001, so be sure to read up on all the new changes. Any projects that applied for building permits prior to October 1, 2005 would fall subject to the 2001 standards. However, anything after falls subject to the new set. There are plenty of resources out there to help aid anyone who may be affected by the change. Be sure to check out this very useful Residential Lighting Design Guide (5MB). If you would like to find out more about Title 24 in general, you can visit the California Energy Commission's webpage at www.energy.ca.gov/title24. |
